“นมัสเต” เป็นท่าทางที่ใช้ทักทายของชาวอินเดียแบบนอบน้อม คล้ายคลึงกับการไหว้ของไทยนัก ลักษณะของการพนมมือแบบนี้เห็นได้ทั่วไปในแถบเอเชียตะวันออกเฉียงใต้ ต้นกำเนิดที่แท้จริง มาจากไหนไม่มีใครรู้ แต่การไหว้แบบไทยไทยถือว่างดงามและเป็นที่ยอมรับระดับมิสยูนิเวอสจ้า
Wai
“Namasté”, an Indian greeting to express respect, is similar to “Wai” in Thailand. The gesture, with hands pressed together and fingers pointed upwards in front of the chest, is commonly used in most Southeast Asian countries. Although its origin is unknown, Thai Wai is highly regarded as a graceful gesture and even performed by Miss Universe 2005 (Natalie Glebova).
